As most members know I have transferred east and I am in fact I am now stationed in New Brunswick. My fleet survived the move with only minor damage and should be repairable without too much trouble, that is when I can get the yard re-established. Covid has presented many unexpected difficulties and to these add complications related to the present shortage of affordable lumber. Joe's latest: a WWII USN Blue Devil Destroyer
My Blue Devil Destroyer is pretty much done and ready for the pond. FINALLY. Only things left are adding the anchor, MAYBE some decals (I LOATH doing decals) and using some foam tape to seal the deck / hull connection. It runs twin counter-rotating 3 blade brass props with twin rudders. No funky smoke / lights - I just wanted it done... 7.2V nicad battery, basic speed controller and a simple AFHDS 2 channel radio. The latest update on Don's Cutty Sark
Now that we can "see how the mainsails set" we have a better understanding of the effort that Don has put into turning a box of bits into a striking model of one of the most famous Clipper Ships. His attention to detail, and the degree of finish ably illustrate Don's need to occupy his Covid-time in an industrious manner. Excellent job, Don
