New member, George Henley, has recreated an original build by Bob Clapp, of his trawler-type Husky. Club members visited Bob, mid-build, many years ago during a Club outing, and were greatly impressed by Bob's construction. George has faithfully replicated George's fine boat with a fine model in 3/4 in. to the foot. Plexiglass windows complete the superstructure, and the rub rails are aluminum MIG rods. Don has published several nice pictures showing his progress with the Cutty Sark, a couple of which we show here. This fine model of the queen of the fast windjammers is an example of Don's patience and craftsmanship. She will be a fine addition to Don's extensive fleet of models depicting marine history through the ages.
This time a Sunnyside Cruiser canoe developed by Walter Dean in 1910 for use in the Lake Ontario waters off Sunnyside Beach, Toronto. It was a fast efficient cruiser that often doubles as a 'girling' canoe. It was so popular that is soon accounted for 90 percent of Dean's business.
